Choosing the Right Fitness Program
Wednesday, January 28, 2009 13:08If you want to achieve your weight loss goals, you must choose your fitness program with care. A good fitness program will keep you motivated so that it becomes easier for you to achieve your weight loss goals. So how do you choose a fitness program that is just right for you?
The answer lies in the following questions:
- What is your fitness level and what are your fitness goals?
- What exercise would you enjoy the most?
- How much time can you devote to your fitness program?
The answers to these questions will help you understand your needs and desires, so that you can choose your fitness program accordingly.
Once you determine your fitness level you would be able to decide on your fitness goals as well. For, instance if you have never exercised in your life or suffer from knee or joint problems you are likely to have extremely low fitness levels, therefore a low impact fitness program like aqua-aerobics or slow walking would be ideal for you.
For those who want to improve their fitness levels, tone up or build their core strength work out programs like kickboxing, swimming etc would be great. Finally, heavy weight training would be ideal for young men who want to beef up.
Choosing an exercise program that you are likely to enjoy is also really important. Unless you enjoy what you are doing, you are likely to get de-motivated and bored with your exercise routine even before you reach the stage of seeing results. So, choose an activity that you are interested in, it could be dancing, swimming, martial arts, sports or anything that involves at least 45 minutes of physical activity.
If you are fitness freak and do not like to compromise on your exercise time, you may decide to opt for a fitness class far from your home of place of work, if it meets all your requirements. For others it would be better to choose a gym or fitness class close to their home or place of work.
Now that you have chosen the right fitness program, how do you make yourself stick to it? A simple way to do this is with an exercise motivation CD. Your subconscious mind will hear, understand and accept these messages embedded in the music to ensure you stay committed to this new fitness routine unlike any previous attempts.
